Purpose

  • Provide professional development on selected topics, derived from state capacity building plans
  • Provide opportunities for further planning and/or problem solving implementation issues via
    • NSTTAC technical assistance
    • Networking with other states

    • SPP transition indicator data collection, reporting, and use
    • Using the institute model within the state for PD, DBDM, and strategic planning
    • Integrating transition assessment information in the IEP
    • Family involvement
    • Interagency collaboration
  • Progress assessment on state capacity building activities
  • Development of revised plans if warranted
  • Knowledge of strategies used in other states to build capacity to implement evidence-based practices and improve performance on SPP indicators 1, 2, 13, and 14
