Debra Neubert is a Professor in the Department of Special Education at the University of Maryland in College Park. She has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in secondary special education and transition services for the past 22 years. She has been a Principal Investigator for On-Campus Outreach that investigated practices and outcomes for students with significant disabilities ages 18-21 who receive special education services at postsecondary sites and then transition to community rehabilitation programs. She developed a support program for high school students with IEPs to participate in a pre-college summer program at the University of Maryland. Dr. Neubert has directed eleven personnel training grants from the U.S. Office of Special Education and Rehabilitation Services for master's students who specialize in transition services for students with disabilities. Her research interests include assessment practices for individuals with disabilities, outcomes for students with disabilities exiting the school system, and postsecondary education access for students with disabilities.
