Indicator 13 brings unique challenges when working with students who have severe or low-incidence conditions. Click the links below to access resources that may help in meeting this challenge:
not enough information given as examples for students with severe disabilities. What about the students who have no understanding of the world of work , whose pleasures are simple , whose mental age is no more that 6 months old?. What significance does work have for these individuals? How should schools address students who are significantly more severe than your examples given? ADL's, physical therapy, occupational therapies are significant, not workings.Attending to a task, tolerating someone's touch. I think you need to revisit this issue and include all levels of severity. Areas of of employment/training should be reevaluated, I'm not sure this is appropriate for this population.
