Interested in presenting?
The 7th Annual Wisconsin Transition Conference will again be held at the Kalahari Water Park and Resort in Wisconsin Dells on Thursday, February 18th and Friday, February 19th, 2010. The pre-conference will be held on Wednesday, February 17th with both morning and afternoon sessions!

Invited presenters include: Drs. Temple Grandin, Hewitt “Rusty” Clark, Mary Morningstar, Bill East, David Test, and Cinda Johnson along with Ms. Linea Johnson. Please refer to the attachment for more detailed information about each invited presenter.

If you are Interested in presenting please submit an electronic presenter proposal at www.wsti.org between March 1 and June 30, 2009.

An on-line scholarship application to help parents and school age youth attend the conference will be available early next fall!

2008-2009 ADA Audio Conference Series
All Sessions are scheduled from 1:00-2:30 p.m. (90 minute sessions) Central Time Zone  (CT). The program is available in three formats; teleconference, streaming audio via the Internet, and real-time captioning via the Internet.  All sessions will have a written transcript as well as a digital recording of the session archived on the site. Education credits/certificates are available for many of the sessions. A certificate of attendance is available upon request once actual attendance/participation is documented.

Transition and the Arts: Tapping into Creative Opportunities - Webcast

Artistic career endeavors might not be the most realistic dream for a youth with a disability. Performing arts are at the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the arts business world. The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is a world leader in providing opportunities for young adults with disabilities. In an attempt to challenge industry leaders the Experiential Education Initiative (EEI) program was launched to develop inclusive opportunities in the arts. A young man with a disability discusses his experiences with the director of accessibility at the JFK Center for Performing Arts.

A National Conversation on the State of the State's Budgets - Teleconference

Midwest Alliance Transition Forum

The National Leadership Institute on Developmental Disabilities
July 12 - 17, 2009

The University of Delaware National Leadership Institute on Developmental Disabilities will be held July 12th -17th. This intensive leadership development program is designed for current executive-level leaders and emerging leaders. Participants may work in areas of management or program leadership in organizations that provide, advocate for, or fund supports for people with developmental disabilities and their families. Institute participants will learn leadership ability and skills and values critical for quality, individualized supports.

PA’s Community on Transition Conference

2010 National Summit on Disability Policy
July 26 - 27, 2010

NCD’s 2010 National Summit on Disability Policy will take place in Washington, DC. This Summit will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. More than 300 people with disabilities and prominent stakeholders, including federal, community, and private sector disability experts, will be invited to confer and exchange ideas on significant themes for all people with disabilities.
