Professional Development Resources:
NM has quarterly Statewide Transition Council Meetings (STCC) which focus on sharing ideas with other state representatives. NM also is holding a summer institute to train and share ideas on transition activities and various IDEA requirements affecting transition services throughout the state.
Other State Activities:
As an NSTTAC intensive state, NM has been conducting transition institutes for many years, using the NSTTAC Institute model. NM also holds regular transition cadre meetings to deliver professional development to team leaders, who will disseminate the information in their schools. In addition to the cadre meetings and assistance with transition summits, the NM transition team participated in strategic planning with NSTTAC personnel to identify needs and strengths for the upcoming school year. NM has also identified two local school districts to receive further assistance from NSTTAC in developing transition-focused education and services.
